1. Who we are

2. The site is information only

Our guides, the form and its result are general information to help you work out what kind of financial support to look for. They are not tax, accounting, legal or financial advice. Any result comes only from your answers, using draft rules, and we cannot see your business or the work your accountant does. Before acting, talk to a qualified adviser about your own situation.

3. Firms we show

• We do not rate or score firms, and showing a firm is not a recommendation.
• We do not check whether an accountant is competent, qualified or suitable for your business.
• We make no promise about any firm's work, fees or availability. Any agreement you make with a firm is between you and that firm.
• How we choose which firms to show is set out on our method page.

4. Companies House data

Company records on this site show public Companies House data. Companies House says it imposes "no rules or requirements on how the information on the public register is used".¹ Companies House publishes what companies file; its disclaimer says that a filing being on the public record does not mean it has been verified.² A company being listed does not mean it is a practising accountancy firm. If something is wrong, see our corrections page.

5. Accuracy

We check facts against the sources we cite and show the date we checked them. Rules and figures can change after that date. If you find an error, please tell us through the corrections page.

6. Using the site

Please do not misuse the site, for example by trying to break it, overloading the Companies House look-up or copying the site in bulk.

7. What is open now

The guides and research are open. The form, the firm directory and introductions are not open yet, and no introductions are sent to any firm.

8. Our liability

The site is free to use and is general information. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on it, or for loss that comes from using it, except where the law does not allow us to limit our responsibility.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

When we change these terms, we show the new date at the top of this page.
